We’re closing out September with a back-to-back second HPE system for our avid Deal of the Week followers! This week however, we’re flipping the script and offering a 3.5” LFF chassis for large capacity drives. Namely we’re offering this as a “BYOD” Bring-Your-Own-Drives event for your multi-terabyte storage needs. Don’t have your own drives? That’s no problem at all, as we’ll have options covered there as well!
You certainly won’t be empty-handed though, as we’re including the often rare DL380 rear flex-bay, which allows for three hot-swap LFF drives in the back of the system. We’ll be using two of those slots respectively for hosting your target OS setup on a pair of RAID 1 SSDs for both speed and stability. For the other drives that users can bring, we’re providing extra drive tray caddies for housing all available drive-bays on this unit. This aims to be a perfect fit for either consolidating multiple smaller 1U servers that hosted 3.5” drives, a full one-to-one transfer from another older 12-bay unit, or for just adding a bunch of newly purchased high capacity drives! Ideal for NAS, PLEX, or any other general file hosting, this unit has you covered. All of those drives will interface through HP’s premier raid controller for this generation, the P840 Smart Array Controller. Supporting a total of up to 16 SATA 6Gbps or SAS 12Gbps drives with a 4GB cache module, you’ll have a wide choice of top notch drive support!
The rest of the configuration is nothing to to overlook either though, with a stacked computing setup of 28 physical CPU cores and 256GB of RAM. Given enough storage, there’s more than enough potential for this 2U server to fill multiple roles as an all-in-one solution! Outboard connectivity will also be sure to fly with a dual port 10Gbps SFP+ FlexLom network adapter to boost networked performance.
Perhaps best of all, we’re including our top tier Premium 1-Year Warranty on this server, to cover all hardware as well as any damage that may arise in shipping. As a helpful tip, you’ll want to make sure to open and review all parts of your shipping box for all tray caddies as well as power supplies.
