Dell PowerEdge R640 - BOSS Card On Board! Large Form Factor Bays for Large Capacity Drives!

Happy Post-Labor Day! For those who aren’t looking to labor over searching for a phenomenal Dell 14th Generation 1U server though, we’re offering 20% off this week’s Dell R640 LFF 4-Bay configuration! We always get a great deal of interest in any 1U server that can offer support for large capacity storage, so this is one not to be missed!

While we’re leaving this server option open to add your own hard drives by including 4x empty drive-trays, we’re starting you off with a RAID 1 OS drive on a Dell BOSS card. If you haven’t heard of a BOSS card before, it’s essentially a dedicated OS boot drive for Dell PowerEdge Servers that are 14th generation and beyond. By utilizing a PCIe slot in the back of the server for a pair of M.2 SATA SSDs, you can have a RAID 1 OS virtual disk while having all of your front drive bays dedicated to data storage. This proves most useful on smaller 1U units such as this 4-Bay Dell R640. Of course don’t let only having 4 bays dissuade you as their larger 3.5” bays offers the capability of up to 20TB per individual drive-bay in a 1U form factor!

Those larger capacity drives can certainly use a boost in RAID performance with such large arrays to run parity on. Due to this need, we’re setting you up with Dell’s premier H740P RAID controller that hosts an 8GB cache and battery backup. This increased cache allows for better performance when establishing a virtual disk or when needing to do a rebuild or other virtual disk procedures. Add to that a pair of 20 core processors, 128GB of system memory, and a 10Gbps SFP+ network connection and you have an altogether top-tier performer in regards to multi-tasking, video transcoding and storage, and plenty of other use-cases!

We can’t say for sure how long stock will last on this featured Deal of the Week, so be sure to act quickly! These offers along with all of our other store listings include our topmost 1 Year Premium Hardware Warranty, covering any hardware issue that may arise. If an error or fault happens to arise, our friendly support staff are more than ready to help tackle your issue!

Warranty Information

To ensure the best product is sent to our customers, all systems are built to order from the ground up, fully tested, updated, and warrantied. We do not dropship any system. Every unit is built in-house by a team of expert engineers. The engineers check and test all components that go into every system. Once all testing is completed, they initiate hardware updates and begin the warranty process. A full build audit is then generated and stored into our database with the order number. This audit includes a list of every component and their respective serial numbers. A shortened version of this audit will be included with the warranty paperwork shipped with each system.
